READING, SAA Board - Committee - Commission - Council: 2019 JUL - I PN 12: 01 Climate Advisory Committee Date: 2018-10-10 Time: 7:00 PM Building: Reading Town Hall Location: Lower Level Conference Room Address: 16 Lowell Street Purpose: Bi-monthly meeting Attendees: Members - Present: David Zeek, chair; Ray Porter, secretary; Laurie Ann Sylvia, member;Celeste Kracke, member; Jeff Everson, associate member Members - Not Present: Gretchen Latowsky, member; Gina Snyder, associate member Others Present: Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Ray Porter Topics of Discussion: Welcome to Members and Guests Review minutes, vote on acceptance Minutes for 9/26/2018 meeting Ongoing Business: • Miscellaneous items o Promotion of Associate members - Laura Gemme clarified that associate members can be promoted to voting status for that meeting o Ask Gretchen in December whether she wishes to continue as a member. o Meet with Laura Gemme to upload past meeting minutes - Ray • Health Effects of Natural Gas o Distributed testimony Dr. Brita Lundberg of to Salem Board of Health meeting. o Reading Board of Health has not met on this issue. • Electric Heat Pump (Heat Smart) o Jennifer Cally and Julie Smith-Galvin still interested in working with us. o RMLD can not take lead. • Electric Charging Stations o DEP grant for workspace charging stations to cover 50% of a station. o Best places to put a system would be somewhere that one would be for an extended period. Close to highways are also good spots. o Power access for Jordans will be evaluated (easy, hard, impossible) o Raoul is setting up a business plan to implement EV stations at various businesses. Page I 1 eoow m Town of Reading - Meeting Minutes o EV charging station now showing up at the Reading Coop Office on Walker Brook Drive o Mass EVIP incentive for employers: School lots for teachers. o Need to understand pricing models. • Open and unrestricted (non-networked) • Restricted use to those with key card access (Employer managed) • Subscriber to a networked system (Charge Point, EV Go) o EV Go has government and municipal partners. o RMLD rebates, time of use and other energy management features o Possible town lots: Haven Street, High Street, Front of Town Hall, behind CVS. o Potential private lots: Jordans and Home Depot, Planet Fitness. • Movie nights o Children suing for environmental damages o Umbrella license may be already available through the library. o Feature length films (screening costs significant).
