Josh calls meeting to order at 7:15pm
1. Sharing Experiences
a. David Clark gives update on newly renovated and decorated Interview Room
at the Polic Station. Wonderfull coming together and showing of support from
local businesses and talented students.
b. Reading 375 Celebration begins 5/31
2. Police Readout:
a. Confirmed 4/20 incident at Wood End school
b. Security Project in Schools
!. Not much can be shared specifically but multiple risk factors at
multiple facilities were reviewed and the School Committee Is pleased
with the research presented at Town Meeting
3. New Resident Open House
a. Kerr! and Heather attended to represent HRAC
!. Seemed to be about 30-50 organizations represented
ii. There was a decent turnout but seemed like more town
representatives than new residents
iii. Will follow up with library to give our feedback
4. Pride Month support @ town hall
a. Heather to request the Common sign reservation and create/put up sign if
granted permission
b. Josh to give Anne a heads up about the plan
S. Brainstorm for future actions of group
a. Keep events more basic, less confrontational, in hopes to appeal to a broader
audience of community members who don't usually attend HRAC events

b. Josh was able to speak to Amy at the library
i. They have a team member devoted to events, as well as partnership
opportunities and budget that we don't have
c. Anti child-labor and/or slavery ideas
d. Efforts to go see a show on an inclusive theme, like Come from Away, as a
community
e. Community picnic in conjunction with Clergy Association
1. Could we incorporate music and lawn games?
ii. Animal or pet rescue petting zoo
iii. Ben's Big Benefit Concert, could we collaborate with them?
6. Adhoc Committee update
a. Next meeting will focus on themes from the brainstorming session
b. Andy and Anne now running the subcommittee
c. Next meeting will be end of May/June
d. Targeting a response/proposal by Oct/Nov for Town Meeting
e. No more sunset date for HRAC as of right now
f. Anne Landry is the new SB liaison for HRAC
7. Review upcoming Action plans
a. Next meeting will be 6/19
8. Review and vote on past meeting minutes
a. Elaine moves to approve 4/4 minutes, Heather 2nds, 5 in favor, Josh
abstains. Motion passes.
9. Elaine moves to adjourn at 8:20pm; Josh 2nds, all in favor, motion passes.
