Updated plans were submitted to the CPDC, with modifications to the plans. JEB shared a
copy of the updated plans. There are changes to the facade. There are no changes to the
dimensions or height of the building.
RW has spoken with Newt Spur, nephew of Riley (owner of the Ace Art Co.) to see if Mr.
Spur may have any information, archival material, or memorabilia for use in the community
room exhibits.

There have been 4 inquiries about the home. JEB contacted the respondents and referred
them to the owner, Jim Lordan.
Town Wide Preservation Grant
VA and SC began working on the questionnaire to hand in to the Northeast Document
Conservation Center, which is performing the assessment.
Reading Garden Club Plant Sale Date and Arts Reading
The Reading Garden Club plant sale is on May 18th. The RHC will have a booth. JW suggests
reproducing Sanborn maps of the town onto a durable paper or plastic. These maps are
useful for finding your home, and usually attract visitors.
Finances
VA would like to buy one or 2 copies of the Blodgetts' forthcoming book for the Town
Archive.
RW motion, JW seconded.
"Buy two copies of Blodgetts' book, up to $50."
Vote: 5-0 in favor.
RNC email account
JEB was informed by the Town IT department that we should be using
RHC@ci reading ma us instead of Historical@ci.reading.ma.us.
New Business
-VA will be presenting a seminar at the Reading Public Library on using library resources to
get information about area homes.

The last preservation plan done in 1982.
-There is a March 19th presentation by MAPC (Metropolitan Area Planning Council) in
Framingham.
-RMLD would like to use some of the photos they have scanned in the past for next year's
calendar.
-Residents of 75 Pearl Street have expressed interested in a presentation about the building
and the history of it. VA has agreed to do one with JEB.
-Julie Mercer has created a draft of the CPDC 40R design guidelines, including some of JEB's
suggestion. It is available on the CPDC March 11 meeting on the town website.
-VA talked about developing closer relationships with town planners.
There is a place in the Town Meeting budget for repairs to the wall at the entrance to
Memorial Park.
