Heather calls meeting to order at 7:10pm
1. Sharing Experiences
a. Kyung give update on Community Dinner, 70-80 people in attendance, good
feedback
2. Student Liaison report
a. Tali is working to bring a new student recruit to the next HRAC meeting to
take her spot for next year
b. Mentions the swastika found in a boys' locker room of the HS on 4/3
3. Police Readout:
a. Confirmed recent 4/3 incident at the HS as well as an incident of a swastika
on a mirror on 3/9
b. ADL training went very well; lots of interest from both Reading and outside
communities
i. 2 full days
ii. Will look into having another one in the future due to interest
iii. Got great feedback about the interactive workshop, confirmed many
protocols that the police are already using
4. Update on Parent University
a. Keynote Speaker on raising compassionate Kids was great
i. About 10 different workshop options
ii. Downside was attendance didn't seem as high as they'd like, and it
was the usual participants. Would like to see more of the community
who don't usually show up to these types of events.

a. Brainstorming the problem and what the ideal state would look like; what
would an inclusive community look like/have for a committee, and what would
we want to achieve as such a community
b. Team is cross functional, HRAC, Select Board, School, Police, and others from
community like library and RED
c. Targeting a response/proposal by Oct/Nov
6. Pride month ideas
a. Heather moves to pursue putting together a proposal for a Pride month
display on the Town Common, bring before the Select Board
b. Elaine 2nds, all in favor, motion passes
7. New Resident Open House
a. Elaine moves for HRAC to sign up for a space
b. David 2nds, all in favor, motion passes
8. Review and vote on past meeting minutes
a. Elaine moves to approve 1/29 amended minutes, Dave 2nds, 4 in favor, Kern
abstains. Motion passes.
9. Next meeting confirmed as 5/21/19
10.Heather moves to adjourn at 8:20pm; Kern 2nds, all in favor, motion passes.
