HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-05-15 Board of Public Works Minutes May 15, 1972 Meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7: 30 P.M. in Room 16, Municipal Building. Present were Chairman White, Secretary Watt, Board Members Blood and Reed and Superintendent Louanis . Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. The Board reviewed Proposed Rules and Regulations for lands and buildings under Public Works ' control . A general discussion ensued and the Board agreed to study the Regulations further and discuss them at a future meeting. Read letter from Mr . Carl D ' Ettore and residents of Audubon Road and Pearl Street complaining about the unsightly condition of Town-owned property at the intersection of Audubon Road and Pearl Street. The Superintendent pointed out that the matter had come up in 1970 when the Selectmen had requested the Board ' s recommendation as to the disposition of the property in- volved . At that time it was recommended that the area be developed into a park and dedicated to the memory of Maurice H. Donegan. It was agreed that the Board of Public Works would include an item in its 1973 budget and go to Town Meeting for funds to construct the park. The Superintendent was instructed to so inform the residents. Read note from the Superintendent regarding the loca- tion of a dog pound. Mr . Blood moved, it was seconded and voted that the Selectmen be notified that the Board had reviewed the Possible locations for a dog pound and recommend that it be lo- cated in one of the buildings at the Haverhill Street Nike Site. The Board adjourned temporarily at 8:20 P.M. to meet as the Board of Survey. The Board reconvened at 8:30 P.M. It was agreed that no meeting would be held on May 29 - Memorial Day. The Board signed the following: Paving Contract with Warren Brothers Billroll dated May 19, 1972 Payroll for period May 8 through May 14 Meeting adjourned at 8:40 P.M.
