Meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7: 30 P.M.
in Room 16, Municipal Building.
Present were Chairman Blood, Secretary White, Board
Members Dustin, Reed and Russell and Superintendent Louanis.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The subject of the anticipated lack of sacks used by
the townspeople to dispose of rubbish was brought to the
attention of the Board. The Superintendent reported at
least two local merchants had advised him there is con-
siderable doubt as to the availability of the wet strength
two-ply 50# kraft paper sacks of 30 gallon capacity after
the first of the year due to the shortage of paper . The
Board readily recognized the impact that this will have on
the Rubbish Collection System and instructed the Superinten-
dent to investigate contingent plans and report to the Board.
' The Board reviewed and approved the 1974-75 Budget
Sheets 1-9 and 11 and Sheets 10-12-13-14-15-16 and the
Superintendent was instructed to develop further supporting
information and report to the Board next week.
The issue as to whether or not the Department should
shut down on Monday, December 24th was presented to the Board
by the Chairman. It was the judgment of the Board that a
complete shut down was not feasible.
The Board signed the Pay Roll for the period ending
November 25th and the Bill Roll dated November 30th.
Meeting adjourned at 10:45 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
