HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-05-07 Board of Public Works Minutes May 7, 1975 Meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P. M. in Room 19, Municipal Building. Present were Chairman Russell , Secretary Dustin, Board Members Blood and Botka and Superintendent Louanis . Chairman Russell asked the Board Members if they wished to reconsider the position taken on Articles 56 and 57 and 58 at the Annual Town Meeting and it was agreed to proceed as pre- viously voted. The Board reviewed the Plan showing the Wetland Protection District, sheets 1 - 39 with comments being raised on the follow- ing sheets: Sheet 4 a. Remove piped ditches shown on this sheet b. Remove Wetland Protection District on ditch north of South Street shown on this sheet Sheet 5 Remove small pools shown on the southwest corner of this sheet from the Wetland Protection District ' Sheet 11 Wetland Protection District shown on this sheet is not in the Town of Reading and is not necessary Sheet 14 Remove two lots on Johanna Drive from the wetland Protection District that has been filled in since the aerial mapping has been completed, also remove the second ditch shown in the Wetland Protection Area near the Little League Field Sheet 18 Remove the drainage ditch from the Wetland Protection District near Charles Street opposite Memorial Park Sheet 22 Remove from the Wetland Protection District the newly piped ditch on Forest Street near Hurlburt Road Sheet 26 Remove this sheet completely from the Wetland Pro- tection District Sheet 27 Remove small pool shown on this sheet from the Wetland Protection District Sheet 28 Remove small pool shown on this sheet from the Wet- land Protection District. After considerable discussion regarding the proposed Wet- land Protection District it was moved that the Board recommend to the Annual Town Meeting to indefinitely postpone Article 80. The motion did not carry. It was decided to ask the Conservation Commission to make all of the changes to the 9 sheets described above, to include the previously requested ammendment allowing driveways or streets ( including utilities) and to delete section 7. It was the sense of the Board members present that if all the above actions were taken the Board would not object to Article 80. Meeting adjourned at 10:00 P .M.
