HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-01-21 Board of Public Works Minutes January 21 , 1976 Meeting of the Board of Public Works opened at 7:30 P. M. in Room 16, Municipal Building. Present were Chairman Russell , Secretary Dustin, Board Members Blood and Botka, Superintendent Louanis and Finance Committee Member Donald Trudeau. The Board discussed the following Budget Sheets: Sheet 5 - Sidewalk Construction and Maintenance: The Superintendent was instructed to consider re- ducing this program $6,500 by cutting out all new construction. Sheet 6 - Parking Area Maintenance: Accepted. Sheet 7 - Maintenance of Storm Drains: The Superinten- dent was instructed to reduce this program from $24,700 to $23,400. Sheet 8 - Drainage Construction: The Superintendent was instructed to reduce this program from $44,800 to $42,452 and establish the order of procedure of Drainage Construction Program as follows: 1 . Wakefield Street 2. Hopkins Street 3• Forest Street 4. Colburn Road 5. Franklin Street Sheet 9 - Equipment Maintenance: Tabled until next week. Sheet 10 - Park and Playgrounds: Maintenance program accepted at $66,000. Sheet 11 -- Forestry: The Superintendent was instructed to increase this from $80,230 to $81 ,308. Sheet 12 - Rubbish Collection: The Superintendent was in- structed to reduce this program from $85,000 to $80,300 and to reduce the number of scheduled recycling days from 36 to 24. Sheet 13 - Municipal Incinerator Operation: The Superinten- dent was instructed to obtain more information and this program will be discussed at the next meeting. ' Sheet 14 - Sewer Maintenance: The Superintendent was in- structed to obtain more information on income and expenses for this program. Sheet 15 - Sewer House Connections: The Superintendent was instructed to reduce $100,000 to $75,000. , The above sheets are to be reworked by the Superintendent prior to the Board 's final vote of approval .
