Topics of Discussion:
The meeting was called to order at 7:07pm.
1. Minutes from the meeting on February 5, 2019 were reviewed and approved.
2. Boy Scout Project
Ryan came to the meeting to present his Eagle project for installing kiosks at the
Maple Ave and Park Ave entrances. He expects the project to take place this spring
(mid-late April until mid-May). Kiosks will have maps and signs ("No Dumping"). The
committee approved his project.
3. Welcome to Reading event
There is a Welcome to Reading event happening at the library on Tuesday, April 30
5:30pm - 7:30pm. The Trails Committee will participate. Walkable Reading would
like to join us. lean will create a Flyer with a QR code that links to the trail maps
page of the town web site. Kim will get a bunch of trail maps to hand out.
4. Maillett/Abjerona Site Tour
On Saturday, April 6 there will be a Maillett/Aberjona site tour with the abutters at
10am. Meet at the Willow Street trailhead. We want to understand and address the
concerns from the abutters.

S. Conservation Commission Meeting - Maillett trail
Trails should attend the Conservation Commission meeting on Wed., April 10 during
which the trail route will be discussed. (Trails will meet briefly before the Cons Comm
meeting.)
Also, on Wed., April 24 Trails should attend the Cons Comm meeting to ask
permission for the grant portion of the trail (Aberjona River to Hunt Street).
6. Work Days
• Saturday, April 13: Bog bridge building for Maillett trail. Meet at the cabin at
9:00am, on-site (volunteers to meet us here) at 10:00am.
• Saturday, May 11: Cut and pre-fab Aberjona River bridge. Meet at the cabin
at 9:00am
• Saturday, May 18: River bridge building
Will DPW truck in the materials before April 13 and May 18? Tom will call them.
7. Friends and Family Day - lune 15
Trails committee decided that we will participate again this year. The event usually
runs from 10:00am - 2:00pm on the Birch Meadow fields.
Next Meeting: Wed. April 10, 2019 (before Cons Comm meeting)
