Topics of Discussion:
I. Welcome! Review goals of School Council and norms.
. Minutes from last meeting were approved.
II. School Improvement Plan: Review Draft, Part II
Reviewed draft and Sarah answered clarifying questions regarding differentiation
and meeting the needs of diverse learners.
III.Inclusivity at Coolidge: Share what we have been doing to promote inclusivity;
receive feedback as to what we could do more of/ differently/ areas of growth.
• In proactive mode at the middle school level enhancing our core values, 8"
graders participated in Challenge Day last week and students are having
discussions in advisory
. The AWOD group was trained by the ADL.
• Sarah made an announcement last week during advisory and the students did an
activity.
Parent Feedback:
Would Challenge Day be more beneficial during the end of the school year rather
than the beginning of the year?
Would like to see it not as a one-day experience but to continue to work on
challenge day message throughout the year.
Parents felt like the vigil was a good Idea. The community should do more
events like that and it might be more.meaningful If it was during the week rather
than on a weekend
Are there cameras at the high school?
There are some cameras but not throughout the entire school.
What could Coolidge do? Inclusivity tree? Students take a leaf and write an
inclusivity message and attach it to the tree.
Have advisories create positive pictures and hang them throughout the school
and have a parade to look at all the drawings.
