Fiorente. G. Fiorente gives a brief update on the subcommittee members. Subcommittee members and Select Board liaisons give introductions. Subcommittee members discuss R. Hand as a possible chairman and M. Killion as a vice- chair. Subcommittee members suggest that it be placed on next agenda for more discussion since suggested chair is not present at the meeting and then brought to Recreation Committee. G. Fiorente states that she thinks the survey is the most important piece at this time to gain community feedback on what they would like to see in the area. She says included in the survey she thinks adding the Sunday early start and the topic of more lights should be two things we ask in the community. Members of the subcommittee agree to set a goal of making the survey the main focus. The subcommittee discusses conservation areas by the imagination station lot and at Castine. M. Killion puts emphasis on fixing Castine which has been talked about for years. G. Fiorente states that C.Tirone has said that nothing can be done in that area. M. Killion says that at least there can be something done to clean up the area. The subcommittee agrees. G. Fiorente suggests reaching out to C. Tirone and seeing if he and/or his chair can come to a future meeting to discuss conversation aspects of the project. The subcommittee agrees that this would be very beneficial and will revisit it after the survey is completed and out. The subcommittee discusses Coolidge field which in the past, has come up too short to be able to turf. Page 1 1 Conversation ensues about different areas of the proposed plan. Some areas include multipurpose courts where existing bball court and pickleball courts are as well as the ropes course. G. Fiorente says that T. Zaya and the High School staff do use it for curriculum. The subcommittee has a discussion about the potential lighting at the Birch Meadow Complex. The subcommittee discusses the time in which the lights go on and off. V. Alvarado asks if there a written rule about the time the lights go off in the evening. G. Fiorente says that for the Town Fields it has been 10pm but she can look into the specifics if It is a bylaw or a rule and regulation under the Select Board. J. Parks and M. Coltman agree to work on the survey for the Birch Meadow Master Pian and keep subcommittee and G. Fiorente informed. Meeting adjourns at 6:55pm. DRAFT Page 12
