Ms. Longley called meeting to order at 7:10 pm
Camp Rice Moody
Brad Latham spoke to the Commission about Camp Rice Moody and said that the camp would
like to give a conservation restriction to the Commission on the property. There are wetland on
the property and an area for fields. The town would have the ability to purchases the property if
the camp was not used as a Girl Scout camp within two years and the current owners wanted to
make sure it remained open space land. Mr Latham said he will contact engineering and
schedule a site walk.
The Commission was in favor of receiving a conservation restriction on the Camp Rice Moody
and requested Mr. Latham continue in that endeavor and report back to the commission.

Sean Casey of Taj Engineering spoke to the commission and provided a plant list and proposal
for plants and planting. Mr. Casey talked about Swan Azalea,Dogwood. drought tolerant plants
Red Maples, White Oaks, Witch Hazel,white and black River Birch.
The Commission requested a planting that it was more appropriate with the project site at the
next meeting and some more details on the guard rail.

The Commission asked Mr. Tirane to check with the engineering department on the stormwater
aspects of this project and get there OK before moving forward.

The applicant presented a new plant list containing four trees and three shrubs. There is a fire pit
on the property that they would like to dismantle and use the stones to create a stone wall
between the lawn and the Zone of Normal Vegetation

Old and new business
Johnsons Woods unauthorized tree cutting
Developer Ted Moore and Trustee Larry Healy, Ms. Scanlon met Mr. Haley at this site to see the
tree in question.
Mr. Moore explains the tree was dead or half dead and it was on the line of the hundred foot
buffer zone. If the tree were to fall it would cause damage to the building. The tree was taken
down by cutting it and dropping it in place.
The Commission asked that the tree not be removed and allowed to rott in place to provide
habitat. The commission explained to tree policy to Mr. Moore and Mr. Healy. Mr. Moore
agreed to donate $250.00 to the Shade Tree Fund to replace the tree.

After discussing the property the Commission issued the certificate of compliance

The commission received a letter from Rob Moyer of the Ocean River Institute Mr. Moyers letter
discussed how commissions should eliminate the use of Nitrogen and phosphorus on all lands
throughout Town. Mr. Moyer has offered to speak to the Commission at the next meeting the
Commission will discuss his invitation in two weeks.
Wetland restoration report from Belmont Street to Ivy Street easement was discussed
National grid tower painting and utility maintenance work in North Cedar Swamp was
discussed

Matera Cabin,Susan woods Gutierrez
Ms. Gutierrez wants to run a business out of the Matera Cabin she would like to come to terms
with the Commission to allow unlimited use without sharing the site.
Ms. Gutierrez intends to remodel that would offset the rental fee. The business is a health and
wellness and art operation. Ms. Gutierrez expects 6 to 8 people for each class and to have 6 to 10
programs per week.
Mr. Tirone asked for a business plan that will provide details on what the business will look like,
to move forward we would need more information
