Present: Carol Oniskey,Erica Deane, Tom Procopio, Dolly DeRosa,Margaret Harvey, Kevin
Walsh, Steve Oston,Prabha Sankaran, Carol Scrima and Sally Hoyt,Jane Bums(staff).
Call to Order: 6:31.

Old Business
• Carol Oniskey and Jane Bums met with Jean Delios to review the proposed paint colors
for the Senior Center. They also discussed lighting issues and the need to address the
appearance of the stairwell. Jane is scheduled to present the paint colors to the Town
Manager for approval.
• Thanksgiving Meal Delivery well received. Volunteer drivers for the Christmas meal
delivery are Kevin Walsh, Prabha Sankaran, Tom Procopio,Margaret Havey and Steve
Oston. Jane will mail the routes and names to drivers prior to Christmas Eve.
• On December 4, at the Board of Selectmen meeting Steve Oston requested the Senior
Center name be changed to"Pleasant Street Center,Reading's gathering place for
seniors". The name was unanimously approved by the Board of Selectmen.
• Upon further research of the discretionary entertainment budget through the Burbank
Trust Fund, it was revealed the $1,500.00 limit was set in 2005. Erica Deane made a
motion to increase the amount to$2,000.00 for FY2014. Carol Scrima 2nd the motion.
Vote Passed: 10-0.
New Business:
• Carol Oniskey recommended Dianne Luther,Nurse Advocate, to speak to Council in
January to discuss the Nurse Advocate position.
• The Council had a general discussion about how to better serve seniors within the
community. There is a concern that we are not reaching some seniors who require
assistance. Kevin Walsh will work with RCTV and submit a report to the Council on
how RCTV and Council on Aging can better work together. Report will be presented at
the February meeting.
