New Accountability System Update
o Requiring assistance vs. Not requiring assistance
o We will continue to have target with subgroups
o Looking at the growth from the year before (did we move the
achievement Floor)
o Every school in Massachusetts has a group of lowest achieving
students
o New levels of accountability categories
o Schools of Recognition, Meeting Target, partially meeting
targets, Focused targeted support, Broad/ Comprehensive
support.
o The targeted percentages are combined with other factors such
as ELL students, high needs, and absenteeism.
o Accountability percentile- Is compared to schools with similar
profiles (ex. K-5, online testing)
o The accountability percentiles should not be compared to school
percentiles from 2012 to 2017 for Spring 2018 it is a different
measure.
o This test is used to make sure that all subgroups are making
progress in achievement and growth.
