September minutes accepted - Minutes approved 3) New business a. MCAS update from LisaMarie Ippolito New Accountability System Update o Requiring assistance vs. Not requiring assistance o We will continue to have target with subgroups o Looking at the growth from the year before (did we move the achievement Floor) o Every school in Massachusetts has a group of lowest achieving students o New levels of accountability categories o Schools of Recognition, Meeting Target, partially meeting targets, Focused targeted support, Broad/ Comprehensive support. o The targeted percentages are combined with other factors such as ELL students, high needs, and absenteeism. o Accountability percentile- Is compared to schools with similar profiles (ex. K-5, online testing) o The accountability percentiles should not be compared to school percentiles from 2012 to 2017 for Spring 2018 it is a different measure. o This test is used to make sure that all subgroups are making progress in achievement and growth.
