1) Call to order
2) Old business
a. Acceptance of minutes.
Moved to accept
b. Updates from WASH Committee
• Met last week and met about goals for next week. Fun Friday next
year one activity per grade and focus the activities on safety. Ideas
such as bike safety, car seat safety, etc. They will come up with
lesson plans to go along with those goals.
• Wash falls under school council, so we will need a parent to give
updates next year.
3) New business
a. SAC planning for 2018 - 2019 school year.
• New people have stepped up for SAC next year. Staff will continue to
do reading as goals and add math next year. The school Improvement
plan Is due In the fall (first school committee meeting), so we need to
think about finishing up to finalize.
• Members mentioned the need of math being added to the goals and
possibility of thinking about attendance whether it should be In or not
be in next year. Christine mentioned one student who is Jewish that
felt bad about taking off time for religious holidays.
• Should we communicate to parents about vacations next year because
It will be considered and factored in to MCAS scores.
• The communication from Individual teachers is inconsistent. What is
the school's policy? The committee spoke about the different ways
teachers are communicating with parents.
• What Is the school's position on next year's Natures Classroom? Is
there going to be a trip? WIII it be overnight?

b. Review School Committee Presentation from June 4, 2018
• A question was brought up about tier 2 behavior supports in school. Will
there be more work next year? Is It still the MTSS? Jaime mentioned the
summer book dub reading "Restorative Justice". Is there going to be a
goal about behavior next year?
• Christine wondered If the slide show could show more of the student
growth from the beginning of the year.
• Christine asked about the kindergarten and first grade test for reading
readiness. Were they all truly at 100%?
c. Progress update on the Bridge Program for 2017-2018 school year.
• Landmark gave another presentation for classroom teachers and Bridge
teachers. This presentation gave practical tools for all teachers to use to
support children with language difficulties.
• The co-teaching book club was mentioned. Questions brought up about
next year's model.
• A question was brought up about Bridge homeroom and Fluidity.
d. Student Handbook
• Lisa will be working on the handbook for next year. Possible summer
work to complete the hand book.
4) Items for next meeting.
a. School Improvement Plan 2018-2019 year end.
• Question about the lending library for our school. Hopefully up and ready
for next year.
• School council can be part of a community project, possible outreach to
help restore the positive community feel. This could tie Into the new
approach for restorative justice. Something more than just academics,
there is something bigger.
• Question about hires for next year, It was mentioned that information will
be sent In an email.
