The likely start date if one of these candidates is selected will be mid-July (after Jane Burns returns from vacation). Branding Initiative: Jane Burns presented 3 draft proposals for a new logo (included in this month's COA packet). COA discussion led to the recommendation that the 2ntl option would be preferable if a white background replaces the maroon, the words "Elder and Human Services" are placed along the inside of the arch, and "Pleasant Street Center' is added as a separate text component below the half circle so that it could be easily replaced with a new name if and when Reading acquires a new senior center. Dementia Friendly Reading: The team is working with the $4,000 Mass Council on Aging grant to develop a Flyer and other materials. They will have a table at Reading's Family Day next weekend. Dementia Friends informational programs are highly recommended to Page 1 1 anyone who has not yet attended. Jane Burns is now a Dementia Friends Champion and offered to run a 1 hour information session during one of the fall COA meetings. 25" Anniversary Recap: Huge Success! John Parsons was instrumental in fund raising - the COA applauded his efforts. The retired firefighters did a tremendous job. Jane Burns is ordering more of the green volunteer t-shirts that were designed for the event -- they will be given as gifts to the retired firefighters. In addition to being great fun for all who attended, the event also helped increase awareness of the Pleasant Street Center and its programs. New Business: Chinese Dinner Funding Request: Jane Burns requested $1,200.00 from the Patrons account to cover the upcoming Chinese dinner. Margaret Havey moved to approve spending $1,200.00 from Patrons for the Chinese Dinner. John Parsons seconded. All in favor. Fag Street Faire: September 91h. Volunteers are requested.
