No comment from the public attendant.
Purpose of meetingto discuss on going rodent activity, edit and approve letter to go out the designated area
and setup future meeting dates.
Emmy Dove believes part of the rises in rodent activity is due to masting (mast seeding),which is when trees
overproduce. This does not happen every year due to the fact it is not sustainable for the trees to do this. It is
not clear on why roasting (mast seeding) happens. She mentioned that Somerville had a pilot program with pre-
bated traps ContraPest—forces female rats into early menopause slowing breeding.
The board reviewed the rodent letter for any mistakes and then approved it to be mailed out to the designated
area affected.
The board discussed what we are currently doing as the Board of Heath in regard to the rodent issues, whether
it's stricter guidelines, new ways to dispose of trash, better dumpster sanitation etc. Sexton had an idea of
looking into a new way for trash disposal and suggested reviewing the dumpster policy for sanitation.
The meeting dates for October 2018-December 2018 were determined: October 151", November 26"and
December 17", all at 6 pm.The meeting dates for 2019 were discussed: the 3'd Monday of each month with
exception of holidays. Laura will create a calendar for review.
