Bonazoli,chair, A. Chase, P.Conboy, K. Kaminer, L.Weir Absent:J. Halsey, C.Caruso Attending: J. Feudo Meeting opened 7:40 PM. Minutes of 1-3-12 meeting approved 5-0-0. J. Feudo requested names and addresses of citizens attending the open hearing meeting. See detail at the Recreation Department. For the record,two(2)citizens who reside in the Birch Meadow neighborhood attended the meeting. No other citizens were present. Chairman Bonazoli opened the hearing and introduced the Draft Policy of Amplified Sound to the meeting. In addition, Mr. Bonazoli explained the process that culminated in the draft policy presented. Mr. Bonazoli read an email from Lois Bell (Washington Park neighborhood)which stated her opposition to amplified sound in parks. Discussion of the proposed draft policy: • Citizens appreciated the work of the committee and thanked them for their service. • Thought the policy was fair and considerate of neighbors,while allowing some AS to park users. • The neighbors asked for moderation and consideration of the park abutters. • Question of whether the school committee will be addressing this issue as it relates to school facilities. • Request to add to the policy the time required for set-up and break down of amplified sound. • Requested that park users be mindful of"maintenance noise leaf blowers,tractors, etc. J. Feudo will remind league users. • BOS will address the new form that the amplified sound usage requests will be on. • Plan to get this approved for March use by the Recreation Committee. Hearing Closed: 8:15 PM. Motion made by chairman Bonazoli to accept the draft of the Amplified Sound Committee, as presented. Second by P. Conboy. Vote: 5-0-0. Meeting adjourned: 8:20 PM
