Called to order: 7:03 pm
The name Walk Reading Weekend was chosen and the dates of Saturday, May 31 - Sunday,
June 1 were selected.
Many options for events, software tools, cooperating organizations/businesses, and publicity
were suggested. Existing resources include the pod tour of historic homes on the library's
website, plus walking routes and trail maps on the Town's website.
Deadlines: May/June issue of YCC is April 10, May issue of Pleasantries is April 3. Also
suggested: Biweekly Update, have Selectmen announce it.
Four hikes areplanned:
AM PM
Saturday, Town Forest bird hike with IRWA. Bare Meadow hike. Dave leads. Start
May 31 7:00 - 9:00 AM, meet at Strout at Mattera. Time TBD
Ave. Dave leads.
Sunday, Sledge Woods / Kurchian Woods Pinevale. Trails Committee leads.

June 1 hike. ROLT leads. 11:00 AM, Leader and time TBD. Start at Pinev

Action items:
• Kim will create a webpage
• Ace will create a Facebook event on the Walkable Reading Facebook page and folks
will post their walking distances to facebook page
• lean will create a Facebook event on the Trails Committee Facebook page
• Gina will create a press release and flyer. A "save the date' flyer will be ready for
Earth Day on April 5.
• Pat will draft a letter to businesses encouraging them to create an event that will be
publicized as part of WRW
It was suggested that all walkers (runners, bikers) wear red. Participants should have
multiple ways of logging their walking distances: Facebook, email, web.app, etc. Someone
will tally and publicize the results. The event is assumed to be the I" annual.
A follow-up meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 22.
