Topics of Discussion:
The meeting was called to order at 7:04pm.
Minutes from the meeting on November 6, 2014 were approved.
1. Boy Scout project - Bare Meadow
Zachary Bourque presented pictures from his completed boardwalk project in Bare
Meadow. The committee approved his project. The construction for this project is
exactly what the Trails Committee is looking for.
2. Winter Walk
Ginny and Ace from Walkable Reading came to the meeting to discuss the logistics
for the Winter Walk to be held on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 1pm at Materra cabin.
• WR will provide refreshments.
• Looking for walk leaders. Will Finch volunteered.
• Kim and Will will open the cabin at 12:30pm
3. Annual Report
Dave presented the draft of the report to the group. A few edits were suggested.
Dave will send it back out to the group for approval.
4. Bare Meadow Viewing Platform
There has been some vandalism at the platform. 82 rods were stolen. The group
voted to replace the stolen rods and the motion passed. Using longer rods was
suggested so that they are harder to remove.

5. Upcoming Projects
We have roughly $500 to spend before June 30. We have some existing stock in the
cabin but we need to evaluate based on the project(s) we decide to undertake.
Some possible projects are:
• Boardwalk to Ipswich River in Town Forest (roughly 90 feet - approx. cost
$2,600 - $3,000)
o Build boardwalk to river before doing pier project
o Need site visit
• Alligator Alley fixes
• Evergreen Trail - need sign(s) and trail work
• Signs needed at:
o Bare Meadow parking lot
o Lynn Village trail head
o Kylie Drive/Evergreen Trail
6. Guest Speaker
Dave Williams talked to Russ Cohen (wild edibles expert) about giving a talk in
Reading. A date in May has been selected. We should send Dave feedback and vote
on this at the next meeting.
7. Facebook
Jean will add pictures from Zachary Bourque's project to RTC Facebook page. Also
mention opening on the committee due to the departure of Terry Selle. We will miss
you Terry! Thanks for all your hard work.
The next meeting will be scheduled when the rods are ready to install at the Bare Meadow
viewing platform.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20pm.
