Acceptance.of Minutes from 3/1212018: Accepted.- Elder Services March Report (Admin):. Note -, the year to date totals on the report are . inaccurate because March was not added in. Accepted. Financial March Report (Admin) Accepted. MVES Report(Brian.Snell): . Mystic Valley held its legislative .breakfast at the last meeting. Protective:Services was on the agenda this year.: . Old Business:- Dementia usiness:Dementia Friendly. Reading: A job description for a-coordinator for dementia friendly. Reading is. being circulated by DKJ. The position requires about 20:hours per month; good- social media & interpersonal skills, etc. The DKJ Foundation is putting up some funding for this. There is also a need a financial person who can do thingsslike applying for grants; setting.up a. bank:account, etc. A grant is available.from the Mass Council on.Aging.- due 4/19;_but it would be difficult to meet the deadline given the lack of financial structure/plan. There's also a larger grant offered:by the AARP. 25'Anniversary Planning: The start.of a budget is included: in the COA packet for this- month. hismonth. Jane Burns hired a band. The firefighters will do the barbeque on the patio and set aside up to,$90,0 for costs.. It's not clear yet if we need 1 or 2 police detail officers; at most it will cost $500, depending upon on block use and the impact on traffic. Committee members have been soliciting donations. Mystic Valley is donating p-sidedish. We Page i.1 waiting.to hear.from.Stop & Shop, Market.Basket, etc—Small donations (gift.certificates). . . have been offered and:more are expected --these could be used as prizes. More.donations . -and/or sponsorships are still being welcomed. Easter. Mea/ Recap: Lots,of people called to say.'than k you".for their,meals. .There.was less .response related to.the.meal deliveryat Christmas, but the gifts were very much. appreciated. Discussion covered suggestions such-as possible consideration of switching .to gifts plus cookies instead of gifts plus full meals at Christmas, or providing meal delivery at some other time of.year.–It was agreed=that the Council would need feedback-from Kerry Valle and Alyse Warren on'how.many people are truly alone at Christmas before making any. dedsions.about changes. New Business: Upcoming Events: Volunteer dinner is.4/1,9. Jane Burns has_made an appeal to extend the. Center hours to 4:00. With the over-ride passage, she has also requested extra hours for, the van driver and senior center coordinator, and to increase her shift to full:time:; They are hoping.to have the new Senior Center-Coordinator selected by_-Juhe 1s.t Adjourned: Motion to'adjourn by John.Parsons.
