Open Session Purpose: General Business Version: Final Attendees: Members - Present: Ron Weston (RW) - Chair Sharlene Reynolds Santo (SRS) - Secretary Jonathan Barnes (JE B) - Treasurer Jack Williams (JW) Member Samantha Couture (SC) - Member Virginia Adams (VA) - Associate Member. ._ Members - Not Present: Others Present: Sarah Brukilacchio;Tom Brukilacchio Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Sharlene Reynolds Santo Topics of Discussion: • Called to order at 7:00 pm in the Berger Room. • If This House Could Talk - Sarah Brukilacchio and Tom Brukilacchio visited and'spoke about a program they saw in Newburyport where property ownersposted signage providing interesting historic details on their local properties, and asked if there is a way we could .do this here in Reading. This would be for a short predetermined period possibly in May. The group had a lively discussion about doing this in the Green Street area this year and maybe other neighborhoods in the future. The Brukilacchio's will continue to research and pursue the possibilities, and report back to RHC. • 52 Sanborn St - Old High School - VA attended a DRT meeting and briefed the RHC at the December meeting. RW has since communicated with the developer, and invited him to attend a future RHC meeting. • 119 Salem St - Demolition has begun. • 79-81 Salem St - Change of Ownership is under discussion and the current owner is aware that a new permit would be required if ownership changed prior to demolition. • Post Mark Square - Looking forward to seeing landscape and granite wall details. RW will contact them about where things stand. • 24 Gould St - David Traggorth to attend February 7 meeting. • Finances - No new expenditures. Page I 1 • New Business o 402 Lowell St - inquiries have been received regarding demolition of this property. This structure is on the Town's Inventory of Historical and Architectural properties. RW responded to both parties via email explaining the rules governing potential demolition of historic structures. o RHC Annual Report for 2017 was submitted today. o SC contacted Wakefield Historic Commission regarding an inquiry we received that is related to Wakefield. o Prospective New Members Group considered ways of recruiting additional members. o The heat in the Archives had been repaired. o JEB reminded the group that the CPDC had committed to develop design guidelines for projects affecting residential neighborhoods, and suggested that someone follow-up. RW volunteered. • RHC Website o RHC's Rules & Regulations adopted on August 9, 2017 are on the Town's website but are not easily found. RW to ask that they be brought onto.the.Historical page of the web site. . o Historic Marker Signs - .RHC discussed the Historic Home Marker Program, updating our information/ordering document, and mentioning this program on the RHC web page. o Town website states that the RHC meets on the first Tuesday of the month and this is no longer accurate. • Minutes - Review minutes from 12/13/17.
