Review minutes from the December 6, 2017, meeting. a) Audra Cashin made a motion to accept the December 6, 2017, minutes and Eileen Manning accepted the motion. 2. Update on School Happenings (did not discuss) 3. SIP Progress Update a) School-wide systems of recognition suggestion—student of the week on PNL b) Advisory a. Staff training 9/27, 11/17 and weekly drop in support for staff b. Advisory surveys for students and teachers will be done late January/early Feb c. Principal's advisory councils have provided constructive feedback c) Professional learning opportunities for staff around data collection, use and analysis a. November inservice day (MCAS results) b. Regular use during data meetings facilitated by team leaders and administrators d) Social media/internet safety instruction a. Speaker: Katie Greer, follow-up in advisory b. Spring advisory session(s) will address social media use e) Interventions a. Use of school-based intervention tracker created last year b. Use ABC (all subjects) and FLEX (ELA/Math) for interventions. c. ABC interventions need to be confirmed with administrator to address specific skill(s) and have entry/exit data. These are short-term interventions and planned with ABC teachers. f) Instructional Rounds Page 1 1 a. Teachers are placed in groups of 5 or 6 and given subs for their day of rounds. b. Observe each other for 30 minutes each and then give each other feedback. c. Purpose is to share effective teaching practices and foster collegiality. d. Focus area this year is Teaching Standard II-A: high expectations for content and quality of effort and work, engaging all students, personalizing instructional practices to accommodate diverse learning styles, needs, interests and levels of readiness. e. Teacher given a Team Reflection Sheet with this information and prompts. f. Non-evaluative g. Will be completed by Feb 15 g) Scheduling a. Developing to schedules currently for override and no override. b. Staff will be consulted for suggestions on both once base schedules are created. h) Leadership Meetings take place 2 times per month a. Consulted regarding advisory b. Created SST process, used as a trial, revising process c. Complete TFI (Oct , Feb and June - goal is to reach 70% for Tiers 1 and 2) d. Consult regarding instructional rounds i) PD opportunities a. Salem State Collaborative (CPPD) b. ADL—Anti-bias training on Jan 24 early release day c. FHAO i. New Conversation About Race ii. Social Justice—Upstanders iii. Holocaust d. Seeing Stars—Reading instruction e. Trauma Sensitive Training f. QBS —De-escalation/Restraint Training g. Girl Drama Seminar h. Equity Workshops (inclusive practices—disabilities, low income, minorities) i. SEI— Sheltered English Immersion Meeting Adjourned at 6:55 pm.
