Minutes from the meeting on Oct 19, 2017 were reviewed and approved. 2. Winter Walk 7 t Annual Winter Walk - on Jan 28 (primary) or Feb 11 (backup) Dec. 4 - deadline for Reading Rec magazine Event at 1pm @ Mattera - snacks afterwards in the cabin Need sign to warn drivers of event on Route 28 North. Kim will ask and check on cabin availability. 3. Cleanup Day Should we consider doing a cleanup day? Walkable Reading wants to help and/or piggy -back on this event. Spring (March or April) is a good time. Get HS students involved? Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts? 4. Dec 2 Work Day Kim said that the materials will be delivered to the cabin on Friday Dec 1. Jean will add the event to the Facebook page. Meet at Mattera at 9am on Dec 2. Page I 1 Tom will send an email asking for volunteers. 5. Trail seminar recap All members who went thought that the Reading Trails presentation went well and got positive feedback from attendees. Tom will respond to the request for information that we got from a man in Williamstown. Sturbridge presentation was interesting. 6. Bare Meadow Habitat Study Kim had sent a memo to the committee with an idea to have a habitat study done at Bare Meadow. She submitted it to Chuck Tirone for discussion at the Dec 6 Conservation Commission meeting. Dave will attend the meeting. There is a Mass Wildlife grant that we could apply for to help with meadow cut back. 7. Dogs and Leash Law Dave brought up the discussion about the leash law in Reading, particularly in the Town Forest. Is there a way to extend the sidewalk law to conservation areas? There are over 2000 licensed dogs in Reading. Talk to Andy Friedmann about this? S. New Members Kathy Kelly wants to join us. Next Meeting: Tues Jan 23 at 7:30pm The meeting was adjourned at 8:30pm.
