Topics of Discussion:
1. Call to Order: Alicia Williams called the meeting to order.
2. Public Comment: None
3. Old Business
a. Meeting minutes were reviewed for: 4/5/17 and 5/10/17 Bylaws Subcommittee
Meetings, and 7/27/17 SEPAC Business Meeting.
Subject to a wording change in the 7/27/17 meeting minutes, Ms. .
Goldlust moves to approve. meeting minutes. Ms. Williams seconds.
Recommendations from the Bylaws -Subcommittee Meetings will be discussed at the
September meeting and the -amended bylaws will be voted on at that time.

4. New'Business
a. Wordink of summer services: Parents have -been confused by IEP language which
calls for "extended year program," which sometimes can mean a full ESY program,

and sometimes can mean academic tutoring. SEPAC will recommend that RPS clarify
language in IEPs in the,future.
b. 48 RACK Card: Attendees reviewed a prototype RACK card (intended for parents;
new to special education who would benefit from becoming aware of the SEPAC)
and suggested improvements.
Ms. Goldlust moved to approve the rack card for publication. Motion
passed 3-0.
Ms. Williams will donate printing costs and will bring copies to the next meeting. For
the first SEPAC mailing of the year, a version of the rack card will be printed on 8 % x
11 -inch paper for ease of mailing.
C. Linked Up Program: Ideas for program which would enable parents looking for
information ,on specialized topics to be connected with experienced. parents were
discussed.
