REnDING, Mt1SS� ion wIG 31 P 2= 5101 Greg Stepler, Brad Congdon, Mike Bean, Patrick Tompkins, John Coote, Nancy Twomey, Members - Not Present: David Traniello Others Present: Facilities Director Joe Huggins, Assistant Facilities Director Kevin Cabuzzi, John Doherty, School Superintendent, Bill Brown Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Topics of Discussion: Meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM at the Birch Meadow School The group toured the exterior of the facility and noted the condition of the structure. Committee reviewed the minutes from 6-5-2017, changes requested: 1. David Traniello - not present 2. John Doherty, Superintendent of Schools was present. 3. Word changed from cooking to looking. Need to check the minutes from the May 15, 2017 meeting. Minutes approved as revised from 6-5-17. The group is still working on the spreadsheet for the Town owned land. The group will meet on August 7, 2017 at 6:00 PM at the Joshua Eaton School. The group discussed the ranking of the buildings for the assessments. A final version of the ranking has yet to be decided on. Nancy Twomey felt the building functioned well from an architectural stand point. The group noted that the building was in good condition mechanically. The group then talked about the criteria that kicks in AAB requirements. Nancy Twomey handed out 521 CMR 3.00 which spelled out what triggers buildings to conform. Page 1 1 Joe Huggins mentioned Deb Ryan (ADA Specialist) should be hired in and create a narrative for each school that will show the work that would need to be done. Joe Huggins will send out the ahera plans, and the building plans for Joshua Eaton. Joe will give the plans to Greg Stepler. The group talked about the need for input by the School Department relating to a building project. John Coote warned that this is not our responsibility. The committee should not make recommendations in size of rooms, programing, etc. Patrick Tompkins will take a stab at creating a document all can use to assess the building.
