Eagle Scout candidate Adam Clark has proposed to install bat boxes in the town forest. Maintenance is needed yearly consisting of cleaning out nests as squirrels take over the boxes. The Scout did not know the cost for the project at the meeting. The bat boxes will be unpainted and installed on posts. The above mention maintenance will be completed on a ladder. There will be three boxes at the field entrance, one box at Town Forest and one at Woodend School. Motion to approve by Mr. Flynn; second by Mr. Curtis. Vote 6-0-0 NOI 270-0680, 1260-1264 Main Street, Mass Equity Motion to continue until May 10`h by Mr. Flynn and seconded by Mrs. Scanlon. Page 1 1 3013.09.01 Town of Reading - Meeting Minutes Ms. Scanlon made a motion to approve minutes for March 22,d and seconded by Mr. Flynn. Mrs. Scanlon made a motion to approve minutes for April 12ch and seconded by Mr. Flynn. Administrative, Commission signed RDA 2017-2 for DPW road maintenance permit NOI 270-0681, 14 Strawberry Hill Lane, Moynihan Jack Sullivan, consultant described the project. A new 4 -foot high retaining wall and 2,700 s.f. of vegetation was removed without a permit. The house is being constructed as part Order of Conditions DEN 270-485, RGB# 2006-37. Mr. Sullivan will prepare a plan to replace vegetation for the next meeting. Mr. Pinette commented that the trees on the other side of the retraining wall will be difficult to maintain after the work is complete. The proposed pool is a saltwater pool that requires no back flushing and runs on a cartridge system. Mike Flynn asked that they consolidate habitat areas closer to the pond. Motion to continue by Mr. Flynn; seconded by Mr. Curtis. Vote 6-0-0 Parcel 0 Haverhill Street, Gillis This lot was created in 1950 as part of a two lot subdivision on Batchelder Road, it predates zoning regulations and is buildable according to the applicant. During the site visit a flag was added by the well and one by the culvert. The Commission conducted a site visit on April 24cn� soils depleted in color were discovered at the surface upgradient wetland flag WF2. The commission asked the applicant to look at that area again and report back to the commission at the next meeting. Motion to continue to May loch by Ms. Scanlon seconded by Mr. Pinette Vote 6-0-0 Shade tree policy 68 Sanborn Lane Eight trees were marked on site for removal by the homeowner who also submitted pictures to the Commission to view. An arborist recommended all 8 trees be removed because they are a hazard. Some were too close to the house others had failed and are becoming falling hazards. The Commission agreed with the homeowner and requested that three (3) native trees be planted to replace the eight removed.
