The Reading Retirement Board held a regular session meeting on July 2 , 2011, in The Lower Level Conference
Room Town Hall, Reading, Massachusetts. - Z011 SEP 213 P 4`
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by Chairman Joseph Veno in the presence of members Richard
Foley, Gail LaPointe, Francis Driscoll, Thomas Clough, and Board Administrator, Colleen Loughlin.
MINUTES
• Regular session minutes for the May 24, 2011 meeting were signed by all board members, except Gail
LaPointe who was not present.
• THOMAS CLOUGH moved to accept the May 24, 2011 regular session minutes as written.

INFORMATION/OUESTIONS/OTHER ITEMS
• Discussed membership for an employee that was working for school dept with a contract for one year and was
viewed as temporary.
• Catherine Quimby, who worked as the Town Clerk and retired on April 1, 1996, passed away on 7/22/11.
She chose Option B at her retirement but there are no funds remaining.
• William Connors, who worked in the Technology Department and retired on July 1, 2011, passed away on
7/23/11. He chose Option C at retirement. His spouse, Paula Connors, will receive a monthly allowance of
$2,214.26, which is 2/3rds of the amount William Connors was receiving when he died.
• Received a Motion to Extend Time for Filing 12(c) Motion from Donald Stead's attorney, Robert Benoit.
• A COLA reimbursement of $107,520.04 from the State for the period 1/1/11-6/30/11 was received on
6/27/11.
• On June 27, 2011, PEP AC notified this Board that Michael Grunzweig was evaluated for possible return to
service and PERAC's internal Nurse Case Manager determined that he is unable to perform the essential
duties of hisjob.
• Copies of the following Reading Retirement Board reports were handed out for review:
The PRIT fund's monthly statement & fund performance for period ending lune 30, 2011.
General Ledger Trial Balance as of June 30, 2011.
Bank Reconciliation for the month ending June 30, 2011.
• The next board meeting is scheduled for August 23, 2011 at 6:00 pm in the Lower Level Conference Room.

PERAC Pension News —PERAC Reschedules Regulatory Hearing for August 30, 2011 in Springfield, MA. This
will be the fifth scheduled hearing in a series held by PERAC to receive comments on major revisions in the
regulations that have governed investment and other activities for the last 13 years.
