• 287 Ash St Public Hearing for Application to Demolish Structure
The applicant seeks only to demolish the detached garage on the property; the
residential structure is to be retained. The hearing was called to order at 7:00 pm. SRS
chaired the hearing, RW read the public notice, JEB gave a brief overview of the historical
and architectural significance of the property and MC gave a brief presentation on the
application. Neighbors were in support of the planned attached garage. Questions and
concerns voiced by RHC were addressed.
JW moved that the presented information is sufficient to make a final determination on
the requested demolition of the structure at 287 Ash St and that the Public Hearing be
closed. JEB seconded the motion Vote 5-0.
SRS moved that the loss of the structure at 287 Ash St would be detrimental to the Town
under the purposes of the bylaw (7.2.1) and that a Demolition Delay of up to six (6)
months be imposed beginning this date. JEB seconded. Vote 3-2. As this motion to
impose a demolition delay requires 4 votes in the affirmative to pass, the motion did not
carry and no delay was imposed. A letter will be submitted to the building inspector
regarding this decision.
• Next Meeting - General meeting on March 8th at 7 pm
Adjourn at 8:00 pm
