MASS, 2011r9R13 P2 -'`SS I Location: Conference Room Session: Open Session Purpose: Public Hearing for 287 Ash St Version: Final Attendees: Members - Present: Ron Weston (RW) - Acting Chair Sharlene Reynolds Santo - Secretary Virginia Adams (VA) - Associate Jonathan Barnes (JEB) - Treasurer Jack Williams (JW) - Member Samantha Couture (SC) Members - Not Present: Carl Mittnight Others Present: Michael Coughlin (MC) - Architect/Contractor Maura Blanchard, Rasay Sanz, Michael Rizzo - neighbors Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Sharlene Reynolds Santo Topics of Discussion: • For the purposes of this hearing Virginia Adams was appointed voting member • 287 Ash St Public Hearing for Application to Demolish Structure The applicant seeks only to demolish the detached garage on the property; the residential structure is to be retained. The hearing was called to order at 7:00 pm. SRS chaired the hearing, RW read the public notice, JEB gave a brief overview of the historical and architectural significance of the property and MC gave a brief presentation on the application. Neighbors were in support of the planned attached garage. Questions and concerns voiced by RHC were addressed. JW moved that the presented information is sufficient to make a final determination on the requested demolition of the structure at 287 Ash St and that the Public Hearing be closed. JEB seconded the motion Vote 5-0. SRS moved that the loss of the structure at 287 Ash St would be detrimental to the Town under the purposes of the bylaw (7.2.1) and that a Demolition Delay of up to six (6) months be imposed beginning this date. JEB seconded. Vote 3-2. As this motion to impose a demolition delay requires 4 votes in the affirmative to pass, the motion did not carry and no delay was imposed. A letter will be submitted to the building inspector regarding this decision. • Next Meeting - General meeting on March 8th at 7 pm Adjourn at 8:00 pm Page 1 1
