INCOPOOP* Board - Committee - Commission - Council: Permanent Building Committee Date: 2017-02-13 Building: Reading Town Hall Address: 16 Lowell Street Purpose: General Business Attendees: Members - Present: k1ECEIVED TOWN CLERK READING. MASS. 2011 PEAR -1 P 2: Oi Time: 7:00 PM Location: Conference Room Session: Version: Greg Stepler, John Coote, Brad Congdon, Michael Bean, Nancy Twomey, Pat Tompkins Members - Not Present: David Traniello Others Present: Facilities Director Joe Huggins Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Topics of Discussion: The meeting called to order at 7 p.m. The committee created their meeting schedule for the year. The committee then discussed the list of town owned properties. Mr. Coote felt as though the committee shouldn't recommend sites for a building such as the cemetery garage. He feels instruction should come from the town. Ms. Twomey agreed that other properties should have been brought forward for additional choices. The instructional motion was open ended and wasn't clear on looking at other sites other than the four cemetery sites. At the time a complete list was not available to the PBC. The group suggested that CPDC and the Town Planner be involved in choosing other sites. Mr. Tompkins suggested filtering the list down to a group of sites that may be viable. Possibly Kim Honetschlager could do this? The other option is to keep the site at Laurel Hill and have remote containers. A list of criteria will be compiled and sent to Kim H. to narrow the list down. Giving the list will stir some feedback from the town as to which sites make the most sense. Page 1 1 They will filter anything 1/2 acre and under and exclude RMLD, Schools, Parks, Boston and Maine Railroad. The list will be sent to the Town Manager and he will decide who can narrow the list down. The committee then went through the town building condition assessments. A list of all building systems will be sent to facilities to assess: • Roof • Windows • Electrical • Sprinklers • Boilers etc... The next meeting will be Monday, March 06, 2017. The following are the 2017 meeting dates; all dates are subject to change: • Monday April 3rd • Monday May 8th • Monday June 5th • Monday July 10th • Monday August 7th • Monday September 11th • Monday October 2nd • Monday November 6th • Monday December 4th The meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m. Page 1 2
