Executive Session
August 7,2012
For ease of archiving, the order that items appear in these minutes reflects the order in
which the items appeared on the agenda for that meeting, and are not necessarily the
order in which any item was taken up by the Board.
Chairman Stephen Goldy, Vice Chairman Ben Tafoya, Secretary Richard Schubert,
Selectmen John Arena and James Bonazoli, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikney
Assistant Town Manager/Finance Director Bob LeLacheur, and Office Manager Paula
Schena.
Sale of Real Estate
Causeway Road -The Town Manager noted that lots 4, 5, 7 and 8 on Causeway Road are
owned by the Town. Lots 4 and 8 are owned by the Light Department and are used for
transmission lines. Lots 5 and 7 are vacant. Lot 6 is owned by Austin Prep. Austin Prep
is asking to combine Lot 6 with Lot 7 and a portion of Lot 5. Since the street and utilities
are all in place, the subdivision would be an "ANR" plan. If the Board is amendable he
will have Lots 5 and 7 appraised.
Richard Schubert suggested having Engineering take a look at the property to determine
' what it is useable for.
A motion by Schubert seconded by Bonazoli to authorize the Town Manager to have
appraisals done on all of the lots on Causeway Road was approved on a roll call vote with
all five members voting in the affirmative.
Pearl Street and Audubon Road—The Town Manager noted that the appraised values are
$7400 and the abutting property owners want to pay$5000.
The consensus of the Board was that either for the abutting property owners to pay the
$7400 or combine the parcels into one.
Depot Parkin Lo[ — The Town Manager wanted to make the Board aware that he is
negotiating a license for the Vine Street parking lot. The license will be cancelable with
3 days notice. One sticking point is the MBTA wants the license for one year and the
Town wants five years. The MBTA also wants revenue sharing.
A motion by Schubert seconded by Tafova to adjourn the Executive Session at 7:30
p.m.was approved by a vote of 5-0-0.
