Building: Reading Town Hall Location: Conference Room Address: 16 Lowell Street Session: Open Session Purpose: General Monthly Meeting Version: Final Attendees: Members - Present: Ron Weston (RW) - Acting Chair Sharlene Reynolds Santo (SRS) - Secretary Virginia Adams (VA) - Associate Jonathan Barnes (JEB) - Treasurer Jack Williams (JW) - Member Members - Not Present: Carl Mittnight Others Present: Katie Matathia (KM) Samantha Couture (SC) Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Sharlene Reynolds Santo Topics of Discussion: Membership - Acting chair RW appointed associate member VA to fill in as a voting member for this meeting. 79-81 Salem St - The hearing originally planned for tonight but due to error in the publication of the legal notice so Richard Stuart agreed to extending the date of the hearing until the 24th of January. The public notice has been reprinted with the current date. Property List - RW & JEB reviewed the list of properties that the town uses for reference. All properties/monuments/markers on the inventory are listed. JW moved that we approve the updated property list per GBL 7.2.3 dated 1/10/17 as the official property list used by the Historical Commission. JEB seconded. Vote 5-0. This list will be given to the building inspectors office for their reference. Rules & Regulations - RHC reviewed revisions to the R&R. RHC had a lively discussion regarding the use of mitigation. RHC will continue reviewing this document. BoS Meeting 1/11/17 - Several members plan to attend meeting to discuss RHC budget. Topics not defined in advance Annual Report - USPS - building has now passed hands and the current owners are developing plans for the property. 186 Summer Ave - is now owned by Criterion. Page 1 1 School House Commons - This property is not on the Historical Inventory, but the design is unimaginative, lacks open space and is not in keeping with the design qualities of the Woburn Street historic district. 228 Woburn St - RHC invited to Open House 1/12, 4-7 pm. Preservation Award Applications are now available. RHC discussed nominating the library next year. Inventory Books will be printed at Rapid Reproductions. JW moved to pay up to $140.00 for the printing of these books JEB seconded. Vote 5-0. Membership SC to interview on January 17th Katie to apply. There is another person that has also expressed interest in joining the group. Archives / Inquiries - reviewed mail Minutes - RHC reviewed the Minutes from November 15, 2016 JEB moved to approve the minutes as amended. RW seconded. Vote 5-0. RHC reviewed the Minutes from December 6, 2016 VA moved to approve the minutes as amended. JEB seconded. Vote 5-0.
