Chairperson Janowski called the Executive Session to order.
Litigation Update

Mr. Bracket updated the School Committee on the status of the Building Project lawsuit. He
shared that the TLT vs. Harleysville portion of the lawsuit has been settled and should be
finalized in approximately 35 days. With this pending agreement, Harleysville has assigned its
rights against Reading to TLT.
Town Counsel has been in contact with the attorney for TLT to discuss a monetary settlement.
The parties continue to discuss the settlement. Mr. Brackett has no recommendations for a
direction or settlement at this time.
The main case is scheduled for trial in October 2013.
Real Property
Mr. Brackett reviewed the process for purchasing of property. This action would fall under a
Unique Property Acquisitions and the School Department would not have to go out for bid.
He went on to discuss the timeline. Discussion on the cost would take place and then the
property would be appraised by the Town Assessor or other appraiser. The School Department
would have to get Town meeting approval based on an agreed upon price with contingencies that
Town Meeting would have to approve.
The Committee asked clarifying questions.
Approval of Minutes
Mr. Croft moved, seconded by Mr. Caruso, to approve the Executive Session minutes dated
September 24, 2012. The roll call vote was 6-0. Mr. Croft, Mr. Caruso Mrs. Gibbs, Mr.
Robinson, Mr. Spadafora and Mrs. Janowski.

October 10, 2012. The roll call vote was 6-0. Mr. Croft, Mr. Caruso Mrs. Gibbs, Mr.
