M,r SS. 1011 FEB 28 P 5-- Topics = A motion by Ensminger seconded by Berman to reconsider the previous vote on the Conservation Commission was approved by a vote of 2-0-0. The Committee interviewed David Pinette for a position on the Conservation Commission. Mr. Pinette noted he served on the Timberneck Swamp Advisory Committee. He is retiring from teaching and wants to get involved with the community. He watches the Conservation Commission meetings on television and they keep asking applicants to come back with more information over and over again. He noted that when a property with Conservation land is sold in Reading it should be a record. He noted that a young couple came before the Conservation Commission because they did landscaping. The cost of what the Conservation Commission was demoing was prohibited. Barry Berman asked Mr. Pinette if he ever appeared before the Conservation Commission and he answered no. Mr. Pinette noted used to do constructional inspections and he enjoyed that. Daniel Ensminger asked what he liked about the Firearms Committee and Mr. Pinette noted that they got everything on the table and brainstormed on solutions and everyone expressed their opinion. Barry Berman asked if he is not appointed as full member, would he take an associate position and he noted he would. Mr. Pinette noted he doesn't like to see what is going on with the Conservation Commission. They fine people for cutting the skunk grass. The Committee thanked Mr. Pinette for coming in. Barry Berman noted he wanted to see him as associate member as a trial run and Daniel Ensminger noted he wants to the incumbents to come in for interviews. Page 1 1 Volunteer Appointment Committee Minutes - June 7, 2016 - page 2 A motion by Ensminger seconded by Berman to recommend appointment of John Costigan to a position on the Board of Health with a term expiring June 30, 2019 was approved by a vote of 2-0-0. A motion by Berman seconded by Ensminger to recommend appointment of Allison Ullman to an Associate position on the Fall Street Faire Committee with a term expiring June 30 2017 was approved by a vote of 2-0-0. A motion by Berman seconded by Ensminger to recommend appointment of Lori Hodin to the Human Relations Advisory Committee was approved by a vote of 2-0- 0. A motion by Berman seconded by Ensminger to recommend appointment of Catherine Kaminer to an Associate position on the Recreation Committee with a term expiring June 30, 2017 was approved by a vote of 2-0-0. A motion by Berman seconded by Ensminger to recommend appointment of Michael Bourque and Daniel Ford to Associate positions on the Town Forest Committee with terms expiring June 30 2017 was approved by a vote of 2-0-0. The Committee decided to meet again on June 21St at 6:00 p.m. A motion by Berman seconded by Ensminger to adiourn the meeting at 7:00 p.m. was approved by a vote of 2-0-0.
