Topics of Discussion:
A. Chase opens the meeting at 6:35pm. A. Chase makes a motion to have G.
Congdon be a full voting member for the night in case a vote needs to be made
and to meet the quorum. Other voting members are in favor 4-0.
R. Hand makes a motion to approve the December 2016 minutes. F. Driscoll seconds. All in
favor 5-0.
A brief discussion is held on the field space for the new softball leagues. F. Driscoll mentions
that the Reading Youth Softball League may close as a league as to not confuse the public.
F. Driscoll also states that enrollment is down.
G. Fiorente gives an update on the current tennis pass system. She states that there were
38 passes sold in 2016 and 101 sold in 2015. She goes on to say that the amount of passes
the Division is selling does not seem to warrant a tennis monitor every evening. F. Driscoll
suggests figuring out the very peak time and having the monitor during that busy time only.
D. Foley asks how many Reading vs. Non Reading Residents there were getting passes. G.
Fiorente says she will bring that information to the next meeting. She adds that one of the
main reasons the tennis pass program was implemented was to eliminate the non-residents
from coming in and taking over the courts. R. Hand mentions that he has enjoyed the tennis
pass program and it has always been organized. G. Fiorente says she will reach out to
committee member, K. Kaminer, since she is avid in the tennis community. The committee
tables the issue to the next meeting.
The committee briefly discusses the renovation of Hunt Park. G. Fiorente, A. Chase, E.
Sisson, and F. Driscoll will be on the subcommittee along with neighbor, Kerin Baskt. G.
Fiorente says she plans to have the first subcommittee meeting by the end of January.
G. Fiorente gives an update on programming. She says the book is out and most programs
will begin to run toward the end of the month. She also mentions preparation for summer

camp early bird discounts which will begin in February. G. Fiorente states she is working on
new contracts with Alison Jenkins in procurement for the program vendors and will be diving
into field scheduling very soon. The committee voices concerns on not having a full time
program coordinator.
R. Hand says that RCASA has not met and asks if the Birch Meadow Master Plan is on hold.
G. Fiorente answers yes.
F. Driscoll makes a motion to adjourn at 7:25pm. D. Foley seconds. All in favor 5-0.
