The Board went into executive session on March 7 1989 at ap-
proximately 10:25 p.m. to discuss labor relations. Present were
Chairman Nigro, Vice Chairman Graham, Secretary Ziegler, and
Selectman Landers . Also present were Town Manager
Hechenbleikner, Police Chief Edward Marchand, Lieutenants Silva
and Patterson, and Sergeants Robbins, Russell, Garchinsky,
O'Brien, and Cloonan.
The Town Manager reviewed the status of negotiations with the
Police Superior Officers. Lieutenant Silva outlined the areas
where he feels the Police Superior Officers excel and provide ex-
cellent service to the Town; Discussion ensued regarding morale
within the Department, and there was agreement that the Town's
intent was to treat all employees fairly. The Board of Selectmen
will give additional guidelines to the Town Manager for nego-
tiations with this group of employees.
On motion by Ziegler, seconded by Landers, the Board voted to
come out of executive session. The Board was polled and all mem-
bers were in favor.
On motion by Graham, seconded by Ziegler, the Board voted to ad-
journ at 12:07 p.m. All voting in favor, the motion was carried.
