HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-09-04 Board of Selectmen Executive Session Minutes Minutes of the Board of Selectmen Executive Session September 4, 1990 Present were Chairman Graham, Vice Chairman Ensminger, Secretary Hines, Selectmen Hoyt and Nigro and Town Manager Peter I . Hechenbleikner. On motion by Nigro, seconded by Ensminger, the minutes of March 13 , 1990 were approved by a vote of 3-0-2, with Hoyt and Hines abstaining. On motion by Hines, seconded by Nigro, the minutes of August 21, 1990 were approved by a vote of 4-0-1, with Ensminger abstaining. The Board discussed the status of the Homart operation and wants to get matters on this closed by the end of this month. Hechenbleikner, and the following list of members of the Finance Committee and the School Committee: Nathan C. White, Nick Ag- neta, Stanley Nissen, Fred VanMagness, Marty McWilliams, Gerry MacDonald, Superintendent of Schools - Bob Munnelly, Jim Nally, Bill Burditt, Mary Williams, Richard Coco, George Shannon, Assis- tant Superintendent of Schools - Lynn Bak, Barbara Philbrick, Finance Director - Beth Klepeis and Town Accountant - Richard Foley. Presentation was made regarding current financial status and how that affects labor negotiations next year. Allan Drachman reviewed some of the history of labor negotiations to date, and suggested that, for a multi-year contract, salary increases of 0% for the first year or two would probably be all that the com- munity could do, with some increase in year three. He also indi- cated that this was not the year to give up any language or other issues. Discussion was held with regard to the CLT petition and what effect it would have on funding availability and also on the sale of debt. The group agreed to meet again on September 19, 1990 at 7:30 p.m. On motion by Ensminger, seconded by Hoyt, the Board voted to come out of Executive Session with all five members voting in the af- firmative.
