Present were Chairman Nigro, Secretary Hoyt, Selectmen Graham and Hines and Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner. A motion by Hoyt, seconded by Hines the minutes of 8-06-91 were approved by a vote of 3-0-1 with Graham abstaining. The Board discussed Homart, and agreed to meet with them in Ex- ecutive Session on the 16th. The Town Manager indicated that Homart is interested in staying involved in the project, but is not ready to close at the end of September. The indication from Homart was that they have "little funding" to secure an exten- sion. The Board discussed interest in keeping Homart involved, but also exploring other options. One possibility was to permit the Town to market the property but to give Homart the right of first refusal. The Town Manager indicated that part of any ex- tension would be that Homart would release all plans and other documents to the Town of Reading at the end of its extension for use by the Town. The Town Manager presented the proposed settlement .for John O'Keefe of a Workers' Compensation case. Authorization is requested to settle a case for a sum not to exceed $49,900. The Board discussed the history of the case and the Town's total fu- ture liability. On motion by Hoyt seconded by Hines the Board voted to authorize the settlement not to exceed $49,900 by a vote of 4-0-0. On motion by Graham seconded by Hoyt the Board voted to adjourn at 10: 50 p.m. All members voted in the affirmative, .and the meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Secre ry
