HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-11-28 Board of Selectmen Executive Session Minutes Board of Selectmen Meeting Executive Session -- November 28, 2000 The Executive Session convened at 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman Matthew Nestor, Vice Chairman George Hines, Secretary Camille Anthony, Selectmen Matthew Cummings and Sally Hoyt, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner, Town Counsel H Theodore Cohen, and Paula Schena. Litigation Video Expo — Town Counsel noted that the judge based his decision on whether there is significant space to relocate to. There are only three sites and they are unacceptably small. Town Counsel noted that interlocutory appeals are rarely overturned. On motion by Cummings seconded by Hoyt, the Board of Selectmen directed Town Counsel to prepare for trial. On a roll call vote, all five members voted in the affirmative. This item will be put on an agenda in January to decide whether to consider continuing. Town Counsel noted that on the Linden Street litigation, the abutters, owner and Reading Housing Authority have reached an agreement for four units. They are looking for a private entity to buy the building and lease one unit to the Reading Housing Authority. Approval of Minutes On motion by Anthony seconded by Cummings, the Board of Selectmen voted to approve the minutes of their Executive Session Meeting on October 24, 2000. On a roll call vote, all five members voted in the affirmative. On motion by Cummings seconded by Hoyt, the Board of Selectmen voted to adjourn their Executive Session Meeting of November 28, 2000 at 7:40 p.m. On a roll call vote, all five members voted in the affirmative.
