Board of Selectmen
Executive Session
March 28,2000
The Executive Session convened at 11:50 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, 16 Lowell
Street, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Vice Chairman Matthew Nestor, Selectmen
Camille Anthony and Matthew Cummings, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner, Assistant
Town Manager Russell Dean and Paula Schena.
Lincoln Negotiations
The Assistant Town Manager noted that Lincoln does not want to put up $1 million in escrow for
the office space but will put up the Deed in escrow. Lincoln offered a $4 million letter of credit
for the landfill closure. Overrun costs for the plain closure will be absorbed by Lincoln. Lincoln
wants deposit refunded, if permits are not granted for development.
Selectman Matthew Cummings noted that a definition of hotel is needed in the P & S.
Sprint Litigation
The Town Manager noted that Sprint's lawyer, Ted Cohen and Sam Perkins are available on
April 18, 2000. A letter will be sent out to residents the week before.
On motion by Cummings seconded by Nestor, the Board of Selectmen voted to adjourn their
Executive Session meeting of March 28, 2000 at 12:03 a.m. On a roll call vote, all three
members voted in the affirmative and the meeting was adjourned.
