Topics of Discussion:
Meeting is called to order by B. Snell at 7:10pm. J. Feudo suggests starting with G.
Strazzere and D. Savio to give DPW and Police updates for the day of the Faire. D. Savio
says there will be 5 detail officers on duty at a rate of $66 per hour. He goes on to say that
the hours plus the administration fee will be approximately $2549. The total number of
officers including the detail officers, on shift officers, the chief, himself and K. Stasiak will be
13. There will be one officer at each sector according to Savio. D. Savio mentions that this
year, the police will be setting up a command center table on Woburn Street with a cruiser
for anyone who has any questions or concerns on the day of the event. At this table, they
will also be doing giveaways for kids and possibly letting children enter the cruiser for a look
if it isn't too busy. D. Savio says he and K. Stasiak along with 2 detail officers will be
monitoring the 5K race in the morning. D. Savio concludes by saying he will update the
action plan and also asks the committee about the time of the 9/11 parade tribute.
B. Snell answers that the parade will start at 11:45am at Woburn at Lowell, will go down
the cobblestone in front of CVS, go right onto Main Street, then turn right onto Haven until
they proceed all the way down to the High Street Stage. He states that Honor Guard, Boy
Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Marching Band will be present. He says to plan on the parade
lasting about 15 minutes.
D. Savio tells the committee he will have message boards out about the Faire and says that
he may have some extras to provide. He asks the committee their thoughts on using any
additional boards. The committee members suggest sponsorships and information on
performances on stage. D. Savio says tells the committee to give him a week's notice and
he can get the boards prepared.
B. Snell asks about the status of the Walkie Talkies. G. Fiorente confirms that she talked to
T. O'Connor and the Walkie Talkies are all set and he has 6 available for the committee to
use on the day of the Faire. J. Feudo says that there are 7 approved food permits.

G. Strazzere begins his update on the DPW. He says they will do the drops first thing in the
morning and road closures will stay as is from last year. G. Strazzere asks about the
construction on Oak Street for the 5K. The committee will circle in with engineering.
D. Eaton asks G. Strazere about getting tables and chairs for the Children's Area. G.
Strazzere answers that if anyone needs tables and chairs to please give him the final count
and they can get them. B. Snell asks G. Strazzere about "Touch a Truck". G. Strazzere
responds that if the committee would like a truck down there he can make that happen.
J. Bonazoli asks about the two chiefs doing speeches for the 9/11 memorial since he thinks
there is much importance linked with that day and first responders. B. Snell said Chief
Burns deferred and he has not received a chance to speak with police. B. Snell goes on to
say that he has received responses from politicians. J. Bonazoli asks if there will be a
podium on stage. The committee agrees that a podium would be beneficial on the stage.
The committee also discusses the possibility of risers for the Reading Community Singers.
J. Feudo presents the rough draft put together by L. Egan of sponsorship tiers for future
Faires. A. Ullman suggests that adding partial sponsorship tiers would be a good idea. The
committee agrees. J. Feudo says he will forward the document to the committee and they
can make additions and suggestions as they see fit.
J. Feudo tells the committee that he and G. Fiorente met with RCTV to discuss them setting
up on the lawn of the Town Common as a live broadcast for the Faire. RCTV would pull the
cable for the BOS room and use the Faire as their backdrop. The committee thinks that is a
great idea. A side conversation starts about putting the dunk tank in their prior location and
about the location for Sanborn, Rotary, and Interact. After a brief discussion, the committee
decides to keep the dunk tank on lower Haven and strategically place the 3 vendors
together near the dunk tank.
J. Feudo pulls up a video on Bubble Soccer to show the committee. He says RCTV would like
to sponsor something and this was an idea. A discussion takes place within the committee
about the pros and cons. The committee decides that Bubble Soccer will not work this year
but recommends talking with Perfect Parties Inflatables to see if they have another idea for
RCTV to sponsor.
J. Feudo says there are no updates with the website and he will ask Catarina if she needs
anything added for the race. K. Bonazoli gives a volunteer update. She has been sending
emails out to Linda Engleson to ask for volunteer help and says she also will reach out to
Kevin Bohmiller from Veteran Services. K. Bonazoli says she will ask boy -scout to help put
up the tents again and see if they want to march in 9/11 parade. A side conversation starts
up about character costumes.
D. Eaton gives an update on children's area and says all the supplies came in and she is
working on organizing volunteers.
S. Mulroy states that a lot of requests have been coming in for tents and there are
approximately 140 vendors. She says she will email all food vendors to remind them about
permits.
J. Feudo announces that the next meeting will be next Tuesday, August 16tH
B. Snell asks the committee what they think of an open mic. The committee is open to the
idea and talks about putting in the parking lot in front of Christopher's. B. Snell says he has
reached out to many politicians. He adds that he has extra volunteer shirts from last year
and will check the inventory to let T. O'Connor know.
T. O'Connor mentions that he remembers the booths in front of CVS were not able to hold
10 booths. Committee members say they will re -measure the area. B. Snell makes a motion
to adjourn. D. Eaton seconds. All are in favor 5-0.
