Introductions — Parents, teacher and principal introduced themselves and their students 2. Purpose of School Councils — Pd Reform Act of 1993 ✓ Community, parent and teacher representation ✓ Sounding board for principal ✓ Review policies and practices, help school reach goals stated in the SIP ✓ Develops SIP for following year ✓ All goals are aligned with district strategy and school mission statement 3. School Improvement Plan 2016-2017 ✓ We will explore, implement and track strategies to more effectively address the academic, social and emotional needs and behavioral health of our students. ✓ We will identify and develop strategies for differentiation to increase our effectiveness with all students. This include strategies to better support struggling leaners, to more effectively meet the needs of diverse learners and to better challenge students at all levels. 4. PARCUMCAS results ✓ Showed and explained student reports for math and ELA ✓ Defined and discussed Parker accountability (Level 2 School) ✓ What do we do with the PARCCIMCAS data and when? ✓ Highlights o Accountability (school percentiles and PPI) has steadily increased over the past 3 years o Grade 6 math — strong student growth and scores o Grade 8 ELA — lowest student growth for ELA scores in school (but still moderate) Page 1 1 o Grade 8 math —trend of very low student growth over the past 3 years o Next generation MCAS being developed for Spring 2017 o New Science MCAS not until Spring 2019 ✓ The presentation is under "school files" on the portal Page 12
