Cultural Council Date: 2016-07-25 Building: Pleasant Street Senior Center Address: 49 Pleasant Street Purpose: Business Attendees: Members - Present: 1016 OCT 11 A 11= 831 Time: 6:30 PM Location: Lounge Room Session: Nora Bucko, Mary Ann Kozlowski, Nancy Ziemlak, Donna Schenkel, Jane Soloway, Rosemary Lewis Members - Not Present: Julie Barber Others Present: Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Rosemary Lewis Topics of Discussion: The meeting was called to order by Donna Schenkel at 6:30 pm In the Conference Room of the Pleasant Street Senior Center. Discussion turned Immediately to the topic of the online application process for grants. The following decisions and action Items ensued: We will strongly encourage the use of the electronic applications. For this year only we will accept both paper and electronic applications. Local guidelines and funding priorities were amended by a vote to 1) remove the stipulation that projects that have not received funding in the past 3 years would have priority, and 2) proposals must state a confirmed artist, venue and performance date to be considered. Donna will complete the form and submit the changes to the MCC website and Nancy will make changes on our Town website. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved after one correction. There was no Treasurer's Report. Jane has still not received a statement from the town since February. There was discussion about CreativeGround.org, a forum for consolidation of information about arts groups In Massachusetts, which sent us an email inviting us to update our profile. It was decided to simply provide a brief statement with a link to Arts Reading. Julie Barber has submitted her resignation from the council. Jane will Invite Beth Mosler to consider applying, as she expressed interest during the May Reception. The meeting adjourned at 7:38 pm. Page I 1
