Executive Session
November 20, 2007
The Executive Session convened at 10:45 p.m. in the Town Hall Conference Room, 16 Lowell
Street, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman James Bonazoll, Vice Chairman
Stephen Goldy, Secretary Ben Tafoya, Selectmen Camille Anthony and Richard Schubert,
Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner, Assistant Town Manager/Finance Director Bob
LeLacheur and Paula Schena.
Labor Negotiations
The Town Manager noted that there is a tentative settlement with the DPW Union. The offer
includes a 2%, 2% and 2.25% wage increase over three years. The overtime language has been
rewritten and a side letter has been incorporated. The wage scale has also been revised.
Selectman Camille Anthony noted that the Town cannot afford. 4% increases. The Town
Manager noted that the Town needs to be competitive with other communities. Selectman
Anthony asked what the cost is, and the Town Manager indicated approximately $40,000. He
noted that the 5th week of vacation time has been changed to phase in one day after the 20th
year.

A motion by Anthony secon ed-by Ta va to aut oriAe Town and er Yn tire
contract between the Town and the Department of Public Works Union once the Union has
ratified the contract was approved on a roll call vote with all five members voting in the
affirmative.
Approval of Minutes
A motion by Schubert seconded by Anthony to approve the Executive Session Minutes of
October 30, 2007 was approved with Anthony, Tafoya, Bonazoll and Schubert voting in the
affirmative and Goldy abstaining.
A motion by Anthony-seconded by Tafoya to adjourn the meeting of November 20, 2007 a
11:05 p.m. was approved on a roll call vote with all rive members voting in the affirmative.
