HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007-09-25 Board of Selectmen Executive Session Minutes Board of Selectmen Meeting Executive Session September 25, 2007 The meeting convened at 10:00 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman James Bonazoli, Secretary Stephen Goldy, Selectmen Camille Anthony and Richard Schubert, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner, Assistant Town Manager/Finance Director Bob LeLacheur and Paula Schena. Labor Negotiations The Town Manager reviewed the proposed changes to the Dispatcher contract. He noted that sick leave buyback will be eliminated for new employees, the unifonn allowance will be increased, and salary will be brought up to the midpoint of other towns. Selectman Camille Anthony asked the cost of the contract, and the Assistant Town Manager noted that it was approximately $20,000. He also noted that there has been a lot of turnover at the early stepsand the cost of training is huge: The steps are subject to a review process. A motion by Schubert seconded by Anthony to approve the FY 2008 — FY 2010 Contract between the Town of Reading and the Reading Public Safety Dispatchers MASS COP Local 191A, and authorize the Town Manager to execute the contract on the Town's behalf was approved on a roll call vote with all four members voting in the affirmative. A motion by Anthony seconded by Schubert to adjourn the Executive Session meeting of September 25, 2007 at 10.20 p.m. was approved on a roll call vote with all four members voting in the affirmative.
