HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-09-02 Board of Selectmen Executive Session Minutes Board of Selectmen Meeting Executive Session September 2, 2003 The Executive Session convened at 7:00 p.m. in the Library at the Birch Meadow School, 27 Arthur B. Lord Drive, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman George Hines, Vice Chairman Richard Schubert, Secretary Gail Wood, Selectmen Camille Anthony and Matthew Cummings, Town Counsel Joan Langsam, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner and Paula Schena. Town Counsel Review of Legal Issues Town Counsel Joan Langsam noted that she will call Nancy Eatons' Attorney and find out what is going on with the case. There is nothing new going on with Mohla -- we're trying to work out a settlement agreement. There is nothing going on with the Beacon Street neighborhood. The Welch matter has been settled into an agreement, and the Danvers Savings Bank issued the Town a check for$25,000 for offsite improvements. Joan Langsam noted that Capobianco has entered into an agreement with the developer which moves the access to another location. Cumberland Farms has been settled. Discovery has not commenced in the Fulgoni case. The Tine case has been settled. Selectman Matthew Cummings noted that Tine is still being charged by the RMLD Counsel. Joan Langsam noted that the Reading Retirement Board versus the Middlesex County Retirement Board is trying to recoup some money. The Town Manager will find out how much we are trying to recoup and how much we have spent trying to recoup. Vice Chairman Richard Schubert asked about Frugal Fannies, and Town Counsel noted that John Gannon is filing a claim for Police details. A motion by Anthony seconded by Wood to adjourn the Executive session of September 2, 2003 at 7:35 p.m. was approved on a roll call vote with all five members voting in the affirmative.
