HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-11-13 Board of Selectmen Executive Session Minutes Board of Selectmen Meeting Executive Session November 13, 1996 The Executive Session was convened at 9:30 p.m. Present were Chairman George Hines, Camille Anthony Vice Chairman, Secretary Bruce MacDonald, Selectmen Sally Hoyt, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner, and Selectmen Dan Ensminger joined the meeting at approximately 9:45 p.m. The Town Manager reported that he had talked with the architect and with the Realtor, and the cost of temporary location for seven to 12 months of some of the functions at the Police Station would be $24,000 - $42,000. The Board asked for information on what the cost of not having our cells available would be, particularly in terms of overtime that may be required. The Board also talked about the need for a public process, and to keep the property owners of both properties that the Town might acquire under different construction scenarios. involved. The Town Manager was directed to approach the property owners and try to negotiate a purchase price subject to final decision by the Board of Selectmen and Town Meeting. He was directed to talk with the Police Station Building Committee and the Downtown Steering Committee prior to having a public hearing. A public hearing will be scheduled as early in December as possible, followed by a decision by the Board of Selectmen at the earliest possible date. Bruce MacDonald will draft a letter to the Police Station Building Committee thanking them for their involvement in this process and dismissing the Committee. On motion by Anthony seconded by Ensminger the Board voted on a roll call vote to adjourn the Executive Session at 10:30 p.m. all five members voting in the affirmative.
