MASS., 101b AUG 25 P 5= 09 Building: Reading Town Hall Location: Conference Room Address: 16 Lowell Street Purpose: Preparation for Fall Street Faire Session: General Session Attendees: Members - Present: Denise Eaton, Brian Snell, Sheila Mulroy, Kristen Bonazoli, Leslie Leahy, Bob Beckman Members - Not Present: Mike Doyon, Denise Eaton, Lisa Egan, Alison Ullman, Steve Goldy Others Present: John Feudo, Genevieve Fiorente Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Genevieve Fiorente Topics of Discussion: Meeting is called to order by B. Snell at 7:08pm. J. Feudo announces that S. Goldy has resigned from doing the antique car show and that there will not be one this year at the faire. He says that Steve indicated he was too busy to take it on and John credited his service all these years on the committee. S. Mulroy states that she will call Gilbert Insurance and let them know since they wanted to be next to the car show. There is a discussion about where else Gilbert Insurance could go. There is also a discussion on what could replace the Antique Car show in that large parking lot. The committee throws out ideas like a petting zoo, pony rides, and zip line. The committee thinks the zip line would be great. J. Feudo says he will look into the possibility with Perfect Parties and report back to the committee. S. Mulroy gives a registration update and says there are 170 vendors registered. B. Snell asks the committee their thoughts about waiving the late fee for a charitable organization called Home Base. The committee is okay with it. S. Mulroy states that she still has not heard from Home Depot and has since followed up with Lowes to see if they would like to participate. She is waiting to hear back. S. Mulroy says she and A. Ullman will go through the vendors and see who has and still needs food permits. B. Beckman gives an entertainment report. He says he is working on the schedule and could use one more performer. He states the Pie Eating Contest will begin at 3:15pm. There is a discussion on RCTV sponsoring prizes and doing live hits. K. Bonazoli gives a volunteer update. She heard back from the boy scouts and they will send about 10-15 boys to help set up and break down at the event. They will also march in the 9/11 ceremony. She says she has not heard back from the girl scouts and that L. Engleson from the school department has not sent out the email to High School students about volunteering. K. Bonazoli mentions getting minion costumes for the Faire along with some princesses. S. Mulroy makes a motion to allocate $300 for costume rentals for the Fair. L. Leahy seconds. All in favor 5-0. Page 1 1 T. O'Connor gives an update on shirt pricing. He says dri-fits are $4 more than regular shirts. B. Snell says he will count remaining shirts from prior years and get in touch with T. O'Connor about what to order. J. Feudo reports on the 5K race. He says that shirts were ordered today and the total cost was $150 less than last year. J. Feudo shows the committee what the shirt looks like. He also says that Catarina told him there are approximately 75 runners and that they are looking to order the medals any day. J. Feudo moves on to talk about the tents and tells the committee there are 23 tents. He suggests buying at least 5 more. S. Mulroy makes a motion that I Feudo can spend $500 on the purchase of new tents for the Faire. B. Beckman seconds. All in favor 4-0. B. Snell gives a short update on the 9/11 ceremony. S. Mulroy says there are not a lot of people right now to perform for the Reading Community Singers. B. Beckman mentions Voices of Hope. S. Mulroy will report back on the numbers to B. Snell. J. Feudo states that the contract with Perfect Parties will be signed soon. He says that D. Eaton should have everyone placed by August 30th. S. Mulroy comments on what a wonderful job D. Eaton does to coordinate. The committee agrees. L. Leahy says the signs have been updated for the common and will be put up on August 29tH S. Mulroy makes a motion to adjourn at 8:10pm. L.
