Administrator’s Report
The Administrators’ report was not available, and will be re-capped in
February.
In lieu of the Administrators’ report, the Administrator discussed the proposed cuts to the
Administrators’ position in the Town of Reading’s FY12 budget.
Financial Report:
Approved.
Old Business:
Stacey Bertocchi agreed to take minutes at the February and March Board meetings. Board
members are working to commit to 2 month increments as secretary, until the position of
secretary can be filled. The Board still needs a volunteer secretary for April, May and June
meetings.
Carole Scrima gave her report (with the help of Margaret Havey) on her visit to the Lynnfield Sr.
center. The report will be catalogued with previous Senior Center visit information.
The Administrator spoke about guidelines to current Patrons’ Fund and Burbank Trust Fund
accounts. The Board also discussed idea of a Reading “Friends of COA” group.
The importance of attendance at COA meetings was emphasized.
New Business:
The Chair and a volunteer will be planning a visit to the Woburn Senior Center as part of our
ongoing research.
Administrators’ December report re-cap
At the next meeting, the Board will discuss “WHY” we as Board members decided to be on
COA Board. What do each of us enjoy about being on Board? What types of things are you
willing to volunteer for? Do you have background interests, hobbies or professional skills
that may an asset to the Board?
The Board discussed different ways to voice their objection to the proposed cuts to Elder
Services in FY12.
