Tanner Drive in the Town of Readiq Massachusetts. The meeting was salled to order by the Chairman, Mr. White. Those member also present were Mr. Dempster, Mr. Stratton and Mr. Dube, forming a quorum. The Chairm 4,thereupon declared said-notion carried and said vote in effect., Mrs._Pierce reported that the balance in the BayBank Middles ®x Checking Account for 667-C was $384,16 as of `July 312 1977. As of ,august §s 1977 after Payment of the above checks due at this times the balance in the WBank account is $10205,01, The balance in the Charlestowp Savings account was $310060.38 plus inter Hrs. Pierce reported that all rents had been solleeted for the month of August, totaling 0 011.2,00. Upon a notion made by Mr. Stratton and seconded by Mr. Dempsterp it was ur�aimQµsly: VO►M& To accept the Fipancial Report as read, The Chairman thereupon declared said motion carried and said vote in effects It was reported by Wee pierce that the 1977-78 Annual Operating Budget had been returned by D.C.A.,, approved as submitted. Now it would be possible begin planning some of the various pWchases and projects requested in this fis years and Mrs. pierce a aid she would be obtaining prices and drawing specifica- tions for the painting work on'the inside of the Recreation Hall and the outsid of the buildings in the newer section of the Project. Also., the purchase of an electric office typewriter was an item which would require a great deal of inve tigation as to makes, companies, prices, eta., and would be the subject of a fu' P . 3te al ture 1, The "Ayes" and the "Naves" were as follows: i Ayes - Mr. Stratton Naves - Mr. Dube Mr. Dempster Mr. White The Chairman delcared said vote a tie, and further discussion ensued. Where it was generally agreed that the Authority would be more closely volved in the program if D.S.I. were running it for them through their office, dissenters felt it would be better to initially send a simple letter to the Se men indicating that the Authority was willing to take over the Section 6 Progr administration. Many times during discussion of this Program, Mr. Agnew-and t Selectmen have indicated that they would welcome turning the administration of this Program over to the Authority, due to the red tape and problems involved. in- the Lect- un1s Therefore, a letter was dictated to Firs. Pierce to be sent to the Select- men, as stated above, and tentative special meeting dates of August 22nd and August 29th were set up to decide the next course of action after the Selectmen's reply. There being no further business to come before the meeting and upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously voted to adjourn the meeting. At that time the Board stated they had never indicated that t wished the Authority to take over the administration E , they. of the.Section 8 Program.:: They also stated that they had no f Abjection if the Authority wished to administer the program themselves since the only reason the Selectmen had handle the administration was the Authority felt it was not in a position to do so at the program's conception.
